ABOUT US
At our heart we are a 'family' church. We come from diverse backgrounds which serve
to enrich our understanding of God as we serve our neighbourhood.
WHAT WE DO
Greenborough church does not have a mission, rather God has a mission and we are commissioned to fulfill this mission.
We live in order to reveal the love of God in Christ, making disciples of all people until the return of Christ and the consummation of the kingdom.

Welcome!
The story of Greenborough began as a church plant in 1951 in the Greenbrook and Beechborough neighbourhood. Worship services were held in the gymnasium of C E Webster Public School on Keele Street. During this time the present site of 2000 Keele Street, (on the corner of Keele Street and Greenbrook Drive) was purchased for the sum of $3,750. The church building was completed in 1957 under the pastorate of Rev. C A Armstrong who served as pastor of our church until 1960. The name of our church is an amalgamation of two neighborhoods (Greenbrook and Beachborough) hence, the idea of unity through comm-unity, through fellowship.

Throughout the years the church's strength has always been in embodying the story of God through teaching. The Sunday School was not merely an addition to the life of the church but its very centre. The emphasis on Christian education ensured that those children who atteneded learned who we are, received instruction in the way of faith, love and hope, and took their place, when it was time, in the various ministries of our church.

A "community church" model was intentional in order to highlight that Christian unity is revealed in diversity. The various traditions and expressions of faith within Christianity serve not as a barrier to but for unity. These traditions enrich the life of faith, revealing the love of God not in uni-formity but in unity, just as the gifts of the Spirit to the church are diverse yet serve to build up the church to the glory of God.

Over the years, we have seen a lot of changes in our neighbourhood, yet the mission is the same, begun long ago: to work with God in the redemption of all creation. Within this story, we have our story, and will continue to tell it.
